Who We Are

Providing humaniatrian aid and medical clinics for vulnerable people around the world

God made us to be heros

Our culture and even the church at large does not give men and women that many opportunities to be who God created them to be. 7 Day Hero exists to give both men and women the opportunity to be a hero overseas.

7 Day Hero life-changing faith adventures allow us an opportunity to talk about what it feels like to be that hero. It also allows us to talk about ways we can be that hero at home with our spouse and children. If we are a hero overseas and a hero at home, we will be a hero in our community and our church, hence being a 7 Day Hero.

Having traveled to 40 plus countries, I have seen the lives of people change. Not only do we help change the lives of the indigenous people including the poor and needy, but those who go on these faith adventures are changed. 7 Day Hero is about life change. We believe God can use us as we serve the poorest of the poor. We are called to do it.

7Day Hero does sustainable humanitarian work around the world that includes food distribution, eye surgeries, and international medical clinics for vulnerable people in the following countries: Vietnam, Peru, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel and the West Bank, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Mexico.

Consider joining us on a future trip with a group of men and women. We always try to work with and support the local, indigenous pastor or NGO to make our efforts sustainable.

Be a Life Changer.

7 Day Hero exists to give both men and women the opportunity to be a hero overseas. Having traveled to 40 plus countries, I have seen the lives of people change. Not only do we help change the lives of the people in need we serve, but those who go on our life-changing faith adventures.

Our Founder

Dr. Jerry Huson is the Founder and Executive Director of 7 Day Hero. Traveling in over 40 countries and seeing how great the needs are in other countries, Jerry started doing humanitarian work helping people who could not help themselves. From Russia to Papua New Guinea,

to Peru and Haiti, Jerry has been witness to changing people’s lives by helping them meet their basic human needs.

Jerry received his Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Biola University. Through his education, Jerry studied different cultures, world religions, and intercultural education. He is well prepared to make a difference around the world.

Dr. Huson is a former college president, missions pastor, and university head baseball coach.

Jerry saw the needs around the world and how meeting those needs changed his own life. As a result, Jerry started taking people with him meeting those basic human needs during earthquakes and famines. Those who traveled with Jerry saw the world differently when they returned.

7 Day Hero has traveled to Mexico, Haiti, Ethiopia, and Vietnam. In January 2015, 7 Day Hero will have provided over 1,000 rural Vietnamese people with the gift of sight. Working with victims of leprosy, orphans, and providing medical clinics, 7 Day Hero has quite a history in four short years. 13 trips to Vietnam, 4 to Haiti, 2 to Ethiopia, 1 to Jordan and the West Bank in the Middle East, and 4 trips to Mexico.

The future looks great. 7 Day Hero has relationships and partners in all countries that make this humanitarian group effective and sustainable.
